Samancor Chrome’s core business is the mining and smelting of chrome ore. We produce three grades of ferrochrome, each used in different areas of the stainless steel smelting process. With an annual capacity of some one million tons, we are one of the largest integrated ferrochrome producers in the world.

What you will learn

Our graduate development program stretches over 2 years, which is documented in a Portfolio Of Evidence (POE). During this time, they will be exposed to all departments in the organisation, which enables them to develop an understanding of how the business functions, while simultaneously further developing their cultural and personal skill sets. Graduates will also gain practical experience in their field of study, and dedicated mentors monitor their progress and performance. Career progression is linked to the achievement of clear, set objectives, which also encourages them to take responsibility for their own development : the sky is the limit!

Your Growth

Graduates follow a tailor-made, in-depth Graduate Development Programme that includes set performance objectives and reviews. This is done with the support of a dedicated mentor who will also monitor progress and will be at hand to share career development advice. Each graduate maintains an Individual Development Plan which will indicate formal courses or work experience needed to support identified career choices and progression.
