esponsible energy solutions are at the heart of our value proposition, which recognises the scale of the energy opportunity that is opening up in South Africa.
Our downstream organisation turns crude oil into a range of refined products, which are moved and marketed around the world for domestic, industrial and transport use.
Our strategic vision is to establish a robust and successful integrated business in South Africa. Our broader corporate culture incorporates transformation, which is a change initiative aimed at the personal, social (team) and structural (company) levels. Interwoven through the transformation initiative is a strong thread of diversity and inclusion, cultural awareness, as well as our core values of honesty, integrity and respect.
Our transformation programmes aim to empower Shell staff, their families, external partners and service providers. We also firmly believe in the fundamental importance of trust, openness, team work and professionalism, as well as pride in what we do.
What you will learn
It’s in our best interest to bring out the best in you:
We assess – develop – reassess: After assessing your skills, we give feedback of our insights so you can create an effective development plan with your supervisor.
We know that the strongest leaders know their own strengths: We work with you to identify your key strengths and support you in achieving the required functional, personal and leadership competencies. We also help you focus on exploring opportunities to increase your knowledge and skills.
We recognise that you learn best when you’re challenged: Giving you challenging tasks and live projects are powerful ways to accelerate your development.
Your growthAs soon as you start our graduate programme, you’re offered a comprehensive onboarding programme that systematically exposes you to all areas of the organisation.
As you move through different experiences on live projects, we provide you with continuous learning in the form of training courses, e-learning modules and workshops. You are given stimulating, hands-on roles – with a high level of responsibility.
Your mentor and supervisor helps you to decide what you want from your career and the best way to achieve it within Shell. The outcome of these discussions is captured in your development plan, which sets the course for the time you spend on the programme, which can be anywhere from three to five years, depending on your role.
